On Sunday, July 6, 2025, at approximately 12:30 AM, I observed an object in the sky that initially appeared to be a star. It was nearly at the zenith (directly overhead) and remained motionless for several seconds. Then, it began moving slowly in a straight path. Just before disappearing, the object suddenly accelerated, without changing direction or making any sound, and vanished completely.
The sudden change in speed was clear and unusual, and does not match the typical behavior of satellites, airplanes, or meteors. The object left no visible trail and did not blink or flash like a conventional aircraft. The sky was clear with no visual obstructions.
I am familiar with how satellites such as the ISS and Starlink behave in the night sky, and this object did not match those patterns.
