4 lights in shape of square moving away but keeping shape then back again making smaller square to large square. When on for 30 -60 min

I was just a child in my bedroom looking at the night sky because I couldn't sleep. I saw 4 lights in a square shape formation in the sky, They would move into a larger square formation slowly then back to a smaller one again. They did this for quite some time as I was completely taken by the moment. I do not recall what exact date or year. What I remember was it was summer as the window was open and it was the 1980's but I am not sure I remember my age from that time. I was however likely 10 or 11 but that is the closest time frame I can provide. This is not all I have seen in my life.

Around this time I had experienced something next to my bed in the same room and house. I don't recall if before or after this incident, I am 47 now so the details are a little fuzzy, There was a short creature on the right side (window side) of my bed. I used a hand knitted blanket my mother had made me when I was just a baby and it was easy to see through the knitting. I hid under my blanket, the creature was right next to my bed almost touching the bed. I remember it reaching out to me with its hand slowly, then next thing I remember I was waking up in the morning.
