My mother and I witnessed a disc-shaped object hovering above us when we were in field after leaving PTA meeting.

I remember my mother and I leaving a PTA meeting and when we were walking back to the car, we crossed into the school's grassed play area. I don't remember hearing a sound to make me look up above but I looked up and above us was a perfectly round disk-shaped object about about 40 feet above us and about 100 feet in diameter. It had multi-color lights all around the underside of it and when I look over at my mother she was looking at it too. I remember both of us acknowledging what we saw and I don't remember being afraid and I didn't remember her being afraid either which was strange considering it being so low and silent. I never remembered my mother and I ever talking about what we saw. I can't recall any conversation or classmates talking about seeing anything the previous evening. ates the next day if they saw anything but don't remember anyone saying they did.
