Very bright light outside window, went outside and saw a very large, silent patch of black.

I was sitting at my office desk (right next to a window), finishing up work. My dog started aggressively barking, I tried to stop the barking as it was late, but he wouldn’t. All of a sudden, an insanely bright white/pink light flooded into my backyard. I was astounded, and decided to take a closer look. I then went outside and looked for the source of the light, I looked up and saw an inconsistent constantly shape-changing black patch, about 7-10 feet wide. I would have originally thought it was a helicopter with a spotlight, however it wasn’t making any noise, eerily quiet. After about 10 seconds of examining the black patch, it zoomed off heading east. All crickets and frogs started making noise exactly after the craft left.
