Location details: I'm not sure the precise location but it was in the fields near the cemented factory near Dunstable.

A large liquid shape, constantly changing. Seen in daylight in good conditions.

It was a long oval liquid shape with a constantly changing surface. We were sitting on a small hill next to a field when we noticed it heading towards us slowly in the sky. It was during a clear summer afternoon so we could see it clearly. It slowly came towards the field next to us from the sky and lowered to almost landing height in the field. It hovered for maybe a few seconds before my mate stood up and I believe this was the catalyst for it to rise up and fly off back in the direction in came, roughly north. It was twice as fast on the departure than arrival. The crop in the field was very grassy and soft but it left no mark.

The time and date are not precise as it was a long time ago. It could be a year or two out. I just remember it was a warm summer afternoon so the month or time probably isn't exactly correct either.

We were not drinking or any other substances! We did not report it at the time and frankly have no interest other than reporting for some kind of database.

Thankfully, I have never seen anything since or had any other weird follow up experiences.
