Witness saw Ufo, loss of time and abduction. Report on news the next day of damage a UFO had done to wind turbines.

It's 2009 and I'm 14 years old (I am currently 29), it's late at night. My dad comes home abruptly with our dog who is terrified, and he reports he believes someone is following him.

I look out my bedroom window and I see a strange aircraft hovering in the sky headed southeast. It is like nothing I've seen before, black matte in colour with lights of every colour dancing around changing position and colour. I look closely with my binoculars and it appears to be somewhat saucer shaped but hanging in the air as if on it's side. It is silent. I open my window and shout out to the craft, "Hey, if you're aliens come back!" I turn and joke with my mum who is stood to my right, thinking it's all a funny joke.

I turn back to the window and with my binoculars, the craft has stopped moving forwards and has turned on the spot 160 degrees left and is now headed directly towards our house.

I panic and close the curtains. My parents go to bed. It's a few minutes past 11pm.

I lose time after this and the next thing I know it's 3am and I'm on the landing on my hands and knees vomiting. My whole body is burning and shaking. I wake her, she picks me up and puts me in the bathroom where I continue to vomit blood.

At this point it felt like suddenly time stopped as mum completely froze and became unresponsive to anything around her, the room starts to shake and a blinding green light pours in through the bathroom window. I turn and look up in awe as I see this craft rise up and move over our house. I feel a wave of heat, it feels like there's a sound but I can't hear anything just the house shuddering.

The next day I wake and see this report on the news: https://youtu.be/iDJpvzoh1Iw?si=j8TVYs6HLIV-MF4Y

On waking I found my body covered in a silver substance (photo attatched) and have some mild burns on my body which later reviewed by my local GP said they 'seemed similar to radiation burns'.

I have never come forward before about this for fear of ridicule. I have searched for explanations and really hope you will be able to help make sense of what happened that night, or potentially corroborate this report with others. Any information we could help each other with would help immensely as this day has haunted me for over 15 years. This is not the only event that has happened to me and my family.

I can also provide map co-ordinates and a detailed drawing of the craft.

INVESTIGATION REPORT

Summary

I won’t repeat much of what is already in the witness report to NUFORC.

Witness submitted report to NUFORC 15 years after the event on 27 Feb 2025

After being assigned this case on 13 Mar 25, I contacted witness via email on 15 Mar 25, and after several exchanges, arranged a call for 20 Mar 25. We spoke for a little over an hour and a half. This was longer than she said she had as she had another scheduled appointment, which she was now late for, but she had a lot she wanted to share, and I asked many questions. I still had many questions, but figured I could cover these in a follow-on call. Which she was also interested in having, saying she would send me her schedule so we could arrange it.

Witness states event began about 11pm on 8 Jan 2009, when she saw a huge craft approaching her house from her bedroom window, and closed the curtains in panic. Her parents oddly just went to bed, which is not unusual in experiencer cases. She found herself in different location in the house 4 hours later at 3am, on 9 Jan 2009, with no recollection of what had occurred in the last 4 hours. She was vomiting blood afterwards, and her mother helped her despite being in a very strange trance-like state. I suspect a possible MILAB type experience, though the close proximity of the huge craft just a few feet above her home may have exposed her to radiation effects, which have been historically reported in other cases where the witnesses were close to a craft. She did also report mild burns afterwards, also indicative of radiation exposure. The sound she felt but did not hear, likely very low frequency, and the heat she felt, also point to some possible radiating high energy source. Both parents seem to have seen the craft also, and would be good to interview. Even their dog was reacting. A doctor who saw her after about her mild burns also thought they seemed similar to radiation burns. The radiation could possibly point to some experimental military craft, like the Taranis UAV suspected of crashing into the wind turbine several days earlier, a crash the witness gives much significance to in her report. The fact that this Taranis UAV is “intercontinental” does indicate a powerful long-lasting power source, possibly nuclear, though it is officially listed as having a Rolls Royce turbofan engine.

When the witness did not send the promised sketch of the craft nor her schedule after our phone conversation, I waited a week and sent both an email and text to her on 27 Mar 25. I also sent a final email on 13 Apr 25. I never received any response. So I likely will not be able to interview her parents. I will send her a copy of this write-up as promised to alert me to any errors I have made, but now do not expect any response. As she suffers from a severe medical issue, it may be she has had a relapse. I hope not. Hopefully she has become busy with her career.

Her main interest was in some confirmation that perhaps someone else saw the same object that night. She was also interested in finding out more about the phenomena. But she stressed repeatedly that she wanted to remain anonymous, so as to not affect her career. I promised her I would leave out any identifying detail, and would send her my write-up for her concurrence before submitting it to NUFORC, though I reminded her that what she had already submitted to NUFORC in her sighting report was already posted on the site, which I could do nothing about. Yet I later found she had already posted her story on the internet weeks earlier, with identifying information. I speculate that she may be vacillating about anonymity.

Unfortunately, I found no collaborating sighting reports of the craft she encountered. Perhaps it was like many other such alien encounters, where only those involved actually see the craft. But I did find much info on the wind turbine crash she seemed to think might be related to the craft she saw. I did manage to determine this could not have been the same craft, as the crash occurred days and possibly weeks earlier. However, her seeing the news report of this crash did seem to help cement the date of her own experience, even 15 years later. I have probably written more on this crash event rather than the subject case, but the witness did think there might be a relationship, which I agree with especially given her radiation type after effects.

Despite not finding any collaborating cases, the very interesting and sometimes unusual aspects she has shared of her encounter are a valuable addition to the NUFORC database, and benefit future research. And I wish her the best with her medical condition.

Pre Interview Research

I did do a little research before our scheduled call. The witness had included a link to a news report in her NUFORC sighting report, and was seeming to say this occurred the same night as her sighting. Her NUFORC report also mentioned the BBC had on-line info about her.

The news report was about a wind turbine that had lost one blade and had another badly damaged due to an apparent collision with an unknown craft. The witness interviewed in the video clip spoke of seeing a light whizzing rapidly past her car and heading towards the turbine. Others were stated to have seen glowing orb-like objects that night. The missing blade was nowhere to be found on the ground next morning.

I also searched the web for a BBC posting on the witness, and found an interview she had given. Without revealing the content, it convinced me she was quite legitimate, and actually a very altruistic person. Her credibility greatly increased after finding out more about her.

I also did some further research on the web of any reports of aliens putting some sort of film on a person while on board the craft. I have had some people tell me of being dipped in a tank initially, like the aliens wanted to perhaps disinfect them so they wouldn’t catch any human diseases. And oddly, I had spoken to another totally unrelated American experiencer in a scheduled call just a few hours before my phonecon with this witness, who also mentioned at the very end that the aliens had covered him in some sort of film. This was the only other time of the hundreds of experiencers I’ve spoken with that I’d personally heard of aliens covering a person in a film. And it was just a few hours before my scheduled 2pm call with the subject witness. Odd.

My web research found that in the sensationalized Hollywood movie about Travis Walton, which had a lot of scary fictional scenes added to frighten the audience, there is one fictional scene where he is covered in a gooey film. I wondered if the subject witness had possibly gotten this detail from watching this Hollywood movie. During our call, I casually asked.

Interview

Phone call began at 2pm, as she requested. Again, I will try not to repeat details already in her sighting report, except for those I pursued further.

We discussed the damaged wind turbine discovered next morning. She said she had contacted the British equivalent of our FAA for any radar data, but only received a letter in reply saying this information was blocked from release by higher authorities. She offered to scan and send a copy of the letter, but never did.

When we discussed the sighting, she stated her mother and father had also seen the object. When the father arrived home from work, he said he saw an object following him as he made his way home. She also said the dog appeared “terrified” at the time. Her mother apparently also saw the object as the witness looked at it through her bedroom window with her binoculars. She said it was initially heading SE from North Wales, until she jokingly said “Hey, if you’re aliens come back!”. It then turned and headed directly towards her house, which scared her, so she closed the curtains and window.

In her report she states the craft rotated and began heading north towards Lincoln. Though I assumed this was after the event, and wanted to clarify, time did not allow this and other questions about directions to be answered.

I asked if she continued to watch the approaching object from some other location after she panicked and closed the curtains. Her parents had calmly went to bed, which was odd, but not unusual in such events. She said she did not remember anything after she closed the curtains, until she ‘came to’ at about 3am. She said she found herself in a different part of the house. When I asked where, she said on the landing at the top of the stairs outside her bedroom. She said she had no idea what had happened during the prior 4 hours.

We discussed the terrible effects she experienced after she ‘came to’ about 3am. She said not only was she vomiting, but also vomiting up blood. I briefly shared some of my background, having spoken to hundreds of experiencers of alien contact as a volunteer for close to a decade. I have heard a few harrowing accounts, but had only spoken to one other experiencer who reported vomiting up blood afterwards and no one vomiting that much. Her’s was probably the most terrible post-encounter effects I’d ever heard of. I told her I suspected this might have been a MILAB event, as these are usually very unpleasant as opposed to the typical relatively benign alien visits. Oddly, though she said she felt “unwell” (which is putting it mildly), she said she never felt afraid, nor in any danger. She even said it “wasn’t really a traumatic experience”. Which is very odd given her experience of vomiting up blood!

I asked for more detail on the film she found herself covered with afterwards. I said from the photos she included with her report, it almost looked like some kind glitter cream, vs some sort of plastic film. She said yes, that’s what it was like. It was an oily substance with some particles in it, and not like some plastic film. I asked if it had any smell, and she said it did not. I asked if she happened to save some of this oily substance, as it would be most interesting to have it analyzed. She said she had, though she said she had no idea where it was now. I asked her to look around, and if she found it, to let me know, and that I could arrange to have a lab analyze it. Again, despite several follow-up emails to her afterwards, I have not heard back from her.

I asked if she had ever seen the movie about Travis Walton. She said she had no idea who Travis Walton was, let alone seeing a movie about him.

Since the subject sighting, witness and her family have seen orbs and other odd things around their home. These included several aircraft which “nearly hit” her house, and one “clearly military” helicopter that also “almost hit” her house. I asked if she saw any markings on it, and she said it had no markings, but that it was “matte black” and she could see it had two blades. Nothing has happened since then. I told her about several other experiencers who also have seen such black helicopters and a bit about MILABs, which I suspected may have been what she experienced as these often are very unpleasant as compared to typical alien contacts. I said I would very much like to interview both mother and father to see what they recall seeing and experiencing, but have not had any further contact from the witness.

We spoke about her serious health issues, and I mentioned the fact that UFO researchers have been finding more recently that anywhere from 20 to 40% of experiencers, depending upon the researcher, find themselves healed of some medical condition by the aliens. If indeed it was aliens and not some sort of MILAB. I mentioned the book by Preston Dennett on this topic. I also told her of two experiencers I advised to try asking the aliens to help with medical issues, in return for what the aliens were getting from them. Both these experiencers also were healed of medical issues after they tried what I suggested. I said perhaps you might try asking the aliens also, as it’s free, and worth a try. She said she thought the aliens or someone may have already helped her. About 3 years ago she was close to death and was told by her doctors she had perhaps only 6 months to live. While she was on life support, she prayed and sent requests to everyone and anyone to help her. “God, spirits, aliens, anyone!” And somehow survived, despite the doctors’ pessimism. So thought maybe the aliens, or someone, had already helped her.

When she said she didn’t know who Travis Walton was, I briefly explained. I also added during my sharing the 20-40% healing story, that I’d spoken to Travis several times, and once asked him if he’d had any aftereffects from his experience. He said the only thing he noticed was that he’s never gotten sick since then. The witness said that’s funny you happen to mention that, as my father never got sick after the sighting either. He had injured himself in falls or such, but was never sick in his life after this encounter.

I asked why she finally submitted this sighting/encounter report after waiting 15 years. What caused her to do so? She said that’s a good question. She said she’s been doing some Google searches recently about UFOs and aliens. As she is still not feeling well, and doesn’t know how long she has to live, she is caring less about what people think, and wants to share the details which may be helpful to others. However, despite sharing her story anonymously to NUFORC, she is still concerned about the negative effects it may have on her career. Again, I assured her I would keep any identifying info out of my write-up.

Did she start to have her medical problems right after the subject sighting? She said no. She said she had been sick for several years before when she was 12 years old, but only had finally been diagnosed when she was 19. So despite all the vomiting that night after the 4 hours of missing time when she was 14, this encounter wouldn’t have caused her medical problems, as she’d had the problems for several years already.

We discussed the event further. She said when she found herself on the stairway landing outside her bedroom at 3am, “feeling unwell”, she crawled into her parents’ bedroom for help, and her mom took her to the bathroom and gave her a towel. But her mom’s reaction was “strange”. She was acting very oddly, with “no expression on her face”, almost like she was in a trance or something. It was “very unlike her”, and she’d never seen her mom like that before, or since. I shared that it’s not unusual for others around an experiencer to seem to have been tranced out by the aliens. I said it’s fairly commonly reported.

After vomiting and cleaning up in the bathroom with her mom’s help, she said she could still see the huge craft through the bathroom window. I sure would like to ask her mom what she recalls seeing. I did ask how far away? She said it was just a few feet above the house, and caused the whole house to shake! She noted she felt a wave of heat, and seemed to feel a sound but couldn’t hear one. She said a green light was coming in though the bathroom window as the craft passed overhead. I commented that green was a less common but not unheard of color, as most people usually report a white, blue, or often a blue-white light. I asked for details on the shape and such of the craft. She had written in her report that it was “black matte in colour with lights of every colour dancing around changing position and colour.” She repeated the same when we spoke and described a “circle of white, red, green, lights of all colors going round the edge.” What was the size and shape? She said it was “a few hundred meters across”, and tried to describe an oval triangular shape. She said it was much like the craft in the film “Arrival”. As I didn’t recall the shape of the craft in this older film, and found her seemingly conflicting oval and triangular shape descriptions confusing and difficult to visualize, I asked her if she could make a sketch, take a picture or scan it, and send it to me. She said she would. Again, despite several follow-up emails to her reminding her of the promised sketch after our call, she has not sent the sketch nor responded back.

By now it seemed clear to me that she likely did have some sort of alien encounter during the 4 hours of missing time. She felt she had also. I asked if she had ever considered hypnosis to try and retrieve some possible memories of what happened. She was interested, so I suggested some resources she might look into. As well as other more general topic resources I’d suggested during our conversation.

We then spoke of other incidents of various sorts in her life, which I won’t detail to keep these confidential, as she requested.

As she was now speaking longer than she intended, and was now running late for her next appointment, she had to end the call. Which was unfortunate, as I still had a number of pending questions. But she did say she would like to talk further, and would send me her schedule so we could set up another mutually agreeable day and time. Which she has not.

Post Interview Research

I am in the Detroit metro area of the US, and am not really familiar with England or the locations of towns except for several major cities, so needed to finally buy a map to determine the relevance of possibly collaborating sighting reports. A big map was much easier to work with, as I soon found it frustrating to be zooming in and out on Google Earth searching for smaller towns and their relative distances. The big map ended up being very useful when I began looking at the location relationships between different cities and towns in England. I also found perusing the charming English town names entertaining, as do many Americans.

The witness said in her report that the object first headed SE from North Wales, then turned and headed north to Lincoln. But north is not the direction Lincoln is in from her location. Per my big map, this would be a 90 degree turn if it truly headed to Lincoln, but a much sharper 45 degree turn if it actually headed north. Per my map of England, Lincoln is not at all north of her location in Wales, but much more in a NE direction from her location.

What also puzzled me was that Wales, where the witness was located, is in the SW corner of England, while Lincoln is a smaller town quite far away near the opposite east coast of England, about half the way up England to Scotland. The much larger city of Birmingham is halfway between the witness location and Lincoln. I was puzzled why the witness stated the object headed to Lincoln instead of referencing the much larger and closer metropolis of Birmingham. I thought that perhaps referencing distant little towns is an English trait I’m not aware of. Or perhaps the witness had some affiliation with the little town of Lincoln, which later proved correct in my subsequent research. As time was limited in our only call, I did not get a chance to ask this small question. But it did strike me as odd. Much like if someone in St. Louis were to report that an object headed north to Traverse City, Michigan, instead of referencing the much larger and closer city of Chicago to the north. Why would the witness reference such a small distant town vs a much larger closer town?

I initially thought I was perhaps making too much of a small detail. Maybe she’s just not the best with directions. Though the conflicting directions do make finding any corresponding sightings less accurate. But I think this next corresponding case sheds much light on this small question of why she referenced Lincoln.

The most relevant possibly corresponding case is one she herself added a link to in her sighting report. She says the next morning after her encounter there was a dramatic report on the news about a large wind turbine in “South Lincolnshire” that had been hit by something during the night. I watched this fascinating broadcast several times via her link. It was by a company called the “On Demand Entertainment Channel”. It had the usual scary music playing in the background, typical of UFO news stories. But it did clearly show the badly damaged blades on the turbine. The announcer said “several witnesses” reported seeing “glowing spheres” in the night and that residents were awoken by a loud crash in the early hours of the morning. A witness was interviewed with what seemed her husband. The woman said that while driving with several friends in her car, she had seen a “light” appear in front of her car and “whiz by” heading “toward the wind turbine.” Startled, she asked her friends “What was that?” It was not stated when the woman was driving. Nor whether the other occupants of the car also saw the object. Nor whether these people in the car were the other witnesses the announcer spoke of, or whether there were other witnesses and reports from other residents in the area. Nor how many other witnesses there were.

The announcer had begun the broadcast by saying “This part of Lincolnshire is dotted with huge wind turbines.” The video clearly showed a number of wind turbines in the background, and then zoomed in on the badly damaged subject wind turbine. One of the three blades seemed slightly damaged, the second was very twisted and badly damaged, while the third blade was missing entirely. The announcer said a search of the area has not found the missing third blade. A voice recording of an interview with the founder of the company, “Ecotricity Company” was played. His name was “Dale Vincent”. He said company reps came out that same day and examined the damage, and reps from the turbine manufacturer came the next day. Mr. Vincent continued saying they shipped some pieces for “forensic testing” but had no results yet. He said “At the moment we’re left with no kind of firm favourite of what has happened.” The announcer said there was some speculation that perhaps ice had caused the damage. But that the residents of the area were convinced it was a UFO that had caused the damage.

In the comment section below the video, a number of people found it hard to believe that an alien craft that could make its way across the Universe while successfully avoiding all manner of meteors and asteroids would be so clumsy as to crash into a wind turbine. I totally agree. Yet here we have clear evidence of a violent crash preceded by reports of “glowing spheres”. If it was some military or commercial or private aircraft, it would seem it would have also crashed after such a tremendous collision with a large wind turbine. It seems implausible that it would have still been able to fly off, even seeming to stop to pick up the third blade off the ground. Or is it possible the company reps arrived very early the next day and had already picked up and shipped off the missing third blade before any residents were awake or reporters had arrived? Or had some other agency taken the missing third blade? But why would any military or other aircraft be flying so low late at night knowing there’s a forest of wind turbines below?

The cause of this crash seemed very mysterious. An interesting case to look into on its own! (Which I sort of have done, actually, as the subject witness thought it very significant and perhaps validating of her own experience.)

The announcer said the crash occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning. The date was not cited in the broadcast, but the title of the broadcast showed a date of 8 Jan 2009. Was this the date of the incident or the date of the later broadcast about the incident? I would say the latter, but I can’t be absolutely sure.

What is certain is that 8 Jan 2009 is the same date the witness said her encounter began at 11pm. And finished at 3am the next morning on 9 Jan 2009. And that later in the day, the 9th, was when she saw this broadcast, dated the day before, which she may not have noticed. After such a bizarre event in the night, to wake and see this report in the news would make anyone wonder if the huge craft she saw had headed to the other side of England and mashed into this wind turbine. Though it seemed she was inferring that this crash was perhaps the same craft that visited her, I never did get a chance to ask that question.

Curious, I looked on-line to see what day the 8th of Jan 2009 fell on, which was the date posted on the broadcast. I checked on a half dozen calendar websites, and they all said the 8th was a Thursday. So the 9th would have been a Friday. This might correlate with the witness saying her father was followed home from work by something strange. It would indicate he worked a regular M-F job, and was returning home from work on Thursday evening after work.

But her encounter does not seem to correlate with the newscast and other sources saying the crash event occurred on early Sunday morning. If the broadcast was indeed released on 8 Jan 2009, as posted, the event on the early Sunday morning must have occurred during the prior weekend. That Sunday would have been the 4th of Jan 2009. Or maybe it occurred on an even earlier weekend, a weekend or two or three back in 2008, the year before? Unfortunately, no specific date was cited in the news broadcast. I think it most likely was the Sunday 4 days before the broadcast, which would be 4 Jan 2009. That would have allowed the news office several days to hear of the story, find some witnesses to interview, and send out a news team and camera crew. But it’s hard to say, as the date of the crash is not clearly stated.

I looked at a number of other websites and news sources, and found most just casually repeated that the crash happened early Sunday morning, without giving a specific date. There were a few websites that erroneously stated that the crash happened on 8 Jan 2009. Probably because most articles were dated 8 or 9 Jan 2009.

If the witness added this crash to her report because she thought it was related, it’s now clear that it’s not. If her dates of her encounter are correct, the witness could not have awakened later the same day and seen a news broadcast report of a crash caused by the same craft she had seen. The wind turbine crash was on a Sunday morning, 4 days if not weeks before. And not on the Thursday-Friday night period of her 8-9 Jan 2009 encounter. It now seems clear to me she may have remembered the correct dates of her encounter because the news report of the crash was firmly fixed in her mind, even 15 years later, because of the dramatic news story she saw hours later. But the wind turbine crash was not caused by the same craft she saw. She possibly may even have her dates wrong, but I don’t think so. Even though the encounter happened 15 years earlier, I believe the dramatic news story a few hours after her own dramatic experience very likely cemented the correct date in her mind.

Unfortunately, that dramatic news story might have further affected some details of her memory of the event. It’s likely why she stated that the huge craft she saw ended up flying off “North” to Lincoln, as the nearby Lincolnshire area is where this dramatic crash occurred. The crash she associated with the craft she saw. Even though Lincolnshire is definitely not north of her sighting location at all, but most definitely a long ways off to the NE. Might several details of her account be more from the news story she saw the next morning and not accurately remembered 15 years later from the encounter itself? It seems so. I would like to ask her some more on these details, but as pointed out, she has not communicated further. I do hope her reason for not responding is not due to some medical relapse.

As I don’t think she has the dates of her encounter wrong, I proceeded to use these in my search for possibly collaborating sighting reports.

NUFORC had a number of sighting reports from England around that time. I’ll detail 3 which actually were more related to the wind turbine crash than the subject event. But I cover these since this crash is related to this subject event. When I did my web case search right after the phonecon with the subject witness, I looked a day or two on each side of the witness’s stated date, as I normally do in case the subject witness or other case report witnesses are a little off in their recollection of the exact date. Interestingly, I found a number of reports of sightings of glowing balls of light, though most were too distant from the subject witness location, or on the wrong date, to be collaborating. There were also several sighting reports which were almost certainly of Sirius, which I do find can appear quite dramatic if one is not familiar with the night sky.

The first is a NUFORC sighting report from Lincolnshire, the same location of the wind turbine crash: https://nuforc.org/sighting/?id=74023. Witness reports that at 5:45pm on 8 Jan 2009, which was not the date of the wind turbine crash but within days and in the same area, witness saw a green circular light stationary over some houses about a quarter of a mile away. The green light looked like a bubble, and seemed about 2,000 feet up in the air. After three minutes, the green light went off, revealing a small dark rectangular object, which the witness thought was too small to be a helicopter. Witness reported this sighting to NUFORC on the same day.

This may be one of the witnesses of “glowing spheres” spoken of in the crash news broadcast dated 8 Jan 2009, though the exact date of this wind turbine crash is unclear. It may be significant that it too had a green light, the same color that the subject witness described coming through her bathroom window.

Second was a 10 Jan 2009 sighting from Grimsby, reported 9 months later, which is a little further NE of Lincolnshire: https://nuforc.org/sighting/?id=72733. Witness reported an orange fire-like object in the sky, which quickly gained height. May be another glowing sphere related to the wind turbine crash?

Third, and final, was an anonymous 8 Jan 2009 sighting report, # 67919, from Conisholme, likely submitted the same day per NUFORC PST time zone stated on the report: https://nuforc.org/sighting/?id=67919. I found this city south of Grimsby on my map, the town in the second related report above, just NE beyond the Lincolnshire area crash. This report stated the wind turbine crash was in this very town, and that the residents actually heard it, so now we have a much more exact location of the crash. The person said he did not witness the crash, but was just submitting a report about it. This report again states the crash occurred on 8 Jan 2009, which again I have now determined is clearly not the date of the crash, but the date of many of the news reports. Interestingly, the submitter includes many precise details and a link to a “Daily Mail” newspaper article about the crash. Some of the more technical details the submitter cites are not mentioned in the attached Daily Mail article, though I did find these details in subsequent websites I looked at. I did wonder if this anonymous person was someone quite knowledgeable about the incident, perhaps technically involved with the company or investigation and wanting to anonymously get this story out. Like the precise facts that there are “twenty 200 foot tall wind turbines located in the fields bordering the village”. Or that the damaged turbine had one “66 ft long blade” “thrown off the turbine” while a second 66 foot blade was “severely crippled”. The number 20, the 200 foot height, and the 66 foot length are not mentioned in the attached Daily Mail article.

The submitter and the article both state that there were reports of “unusual lights in the sky” “the previous day and in the early hours of the 8th.” The article also states several times that the crash occurred on an early Sunday morning, but again fails to cite the precise date of the crash. One person saw “a massive ball of light with tentacles going right down to the ground.” Another reported “Orange spheres skimming across the sky.” “A local council chief reported that he had seen a round object with a slight red trim hovering near the turbines that night.” Another took a photo of “a bright yellow light” which hovered over the village for 5 minutes before “quickly disappearing”.

This Daily Mail article was dated “9 January 2009”. The headline was “Unmanned stealth bomber could have been UFO responsible for destroying wind turbine.” It said that “Ministry of Defense insiders” said “a black delta-wing craft called Taranis was making test runs on the coastal bombing ranges at the Donna Nook and North Coates in Lincolnshire, near to the site of the damaged turbine.” The article continues saying the aircraft is stealth equipped and has “an ‘autonomous’ artificial intelligence system.” This secretive program would have been in the very early days of AI development, which may have contributed to the sloppy flying and a crash into a wind turbine.

Phew! Suddenly this subject case might have gotten a lot more complex. Or less complex if the cause was a prototype secret military craft. I did later look up the two cited “bombing ranges” and found they were indeed real current or previous military sites near the area.

The Daily Mail article continued saying the crash occurred at 4am. And that even Nick Pope has weighed in, quoted as saying “This is a really bizarre case.”, and that any residue on the damaged parts could be “particularly exciting.” The article states that the Ecotricity reps have ruled out ice or lightning as a cause. The article then degraded into the typical media derision of the topic, posting a picture of a woman with somewhat goofy glasses and a camera, another picture of a common sundog, and then suggested the aliens may have travelled billions of miles to visit a local “ice cream parlour.” The usual media derision, only lacking scary background music…

I found Wikipedia had an article on this Taranis craft. It is an unmanned intercontinental aircraft program, led by BAE, with Rolls Royce, GE, Ministry of Defence, and others involved, so a major program. Initiated in 2005, it supposedly only had a prototype in 2007, and supposedly did not make its first flight till 2013 in Australia. Interestingly, the Wiki article named 7 other prior programs that also were trying to develop UAVs. So these prior programs might also have, or continue to have prototypes flying around. The Wikipedia article also included a statement that “On 9 Jan 2009, the Ministry of Defense denied that the Taranis had been flying near the site of the damaged wind turbine…”. Interestingly, when I googled “Taranis”, a number of websites came up about a Taranis crop management software that also uses AI, just as the Taranis craft does. But perhaps this is not significant, as who doesn’t use AI now days?

This MOD denial statement, also dated as 9 Jan 2009, in Wikipedia is somewhat contrary to the Daily Mail article put out the same day as the event in which Ministry of Defence “insiders” are cited as saying the Taranis was indeed making test runs in the area near the site of the turbine damage.

But this does not explain the many witness reports of orbs and stationary glowing objects sighted around the time of the wind turbine crash. Perhaps why Nick Pope said this crash was “really bizarre”. And I do wonder if our subject witness might have some more reasons to want to tie her experience to this distant event. I’d like to ask her if there are additional reasons she’d want to connect her encounter to this crash.

I also found a number of other websites that spoke of this crash. Some later ones spoke of finding the bolts had given way on the blade that flew off, and this now detached blade may have hit the other damaged blade on the way down. A spokesman said 5-6 blades fall off wind turbines each year. Seems a bit of redesign is needed. This explanation sounds logical but does not explain all the lights seen in the days before and after the crash. Some articles mentioned that there was a birthday party that evening which included some fireworks. But a local resident angrily disputed any association, saying don’t you think we can recognize fireworks? This also does not explain the numerous lighted object sightings days on either side of the crash. Finally, there were reports of the area being cordoned off and patrolled by guards. Seems a bit of overkill by authorities, but maybe the curious were interfering with repair efforts.

I also looked on other UFO reporting sites for corresponding cases, but did not find any relevant corresponding ones. They were either far from the subject sighting location or nothing like what the subject witness reported or referenced. So sadly, though I found several reports that related to the crash that she cited, I have not found any sighting reports that could correspond to the events at her home. Perhaps this is one of the cases not infrequently reported, where it is only those involved that see the UFO. And all those around noticed nothing.

However, I did find that this same subject witness had posted her account elsewhere on the web on 4 Mar 25, a week after she submitted the NUFORC report, and 2 weeks before I spoke to her on the phone. I promised her I would not put any detail in my report that might allow identifying her, and affect her career, but said I could not remove the report she had already submitted to NUFORC. And I will keep my word to her on this. But in her other web post, I found she had added even more identifying detail, included her address, and even attached an additional picture of her entire face.

It hardly seemed she had been trying to remain anonymous. And this was 2 weeks before she asked me to keep her anonymous in our 20 Mar 25 phonecon. Perhaps she has been wavering back and forth on how anonymous she wants to be? Still, I gave her my word, so will stick by it, even though she clearly has earlier been less than anonymous elsewhere on the internet.

Lastly, I did look up the craft in the Arrival movie. This craft is shaped like a wide shallow soup bowl. But I don’t see any “triangular” shape as she described, so I am still puzzled, and would really like to see her sketch. But it is shown on its edge, which is like the “on it’s side” description in her report.

Discussion and Conclusions

As is the case with many if not most of alien contacts, one can only rely on the witness testimony. However, in this case her parents also saw some of the events that night, and it would be wonderful to hear what they recall seeing. But since the witness is not responding to follow-on messages, there’s no possible way I can reach out to her parents. Perhaps she has been too busy with her career, or, as she does suffer from a severe medical condition, has been taken ill again, which I hope not. Perhaps she has found someone more to her liking to speak with via her posting her experiences elsewhere. But I speculate here as I have no way of knowing. She did say she wanted to talk again at the end of our call, and in addition to saying she would send a sketch of the object, said she would send me her schedule so we could coordinate another call. But I never received either of these, nor any further responses to my several repeat messages to her.

I did find it conflicting that she was quite adamant about remaining anonymous in any report I wrote for NUFORC during our call, only to find out afterwards while researching other possibly confirming cases that two weeks prior to our call she had posted her same sighting report elsewhere with much revealing detail about herself. Was she simply vacillating on how public she wanted to be? Perhaps. Does this change my opinion on the validity of her account? Possibly. Unless she does eventually respond back to me, and can explain further, her differing attitudes toward anonymity does introduce a little doubt.

That said, I am inclined to believe most of what she reports, though it does seem now that she was wrong in thinking the wind turbine crash might be related. This crash was at least 4 days earlier, and possibly weeks earlier. Surprisingly even the news accounts of the period get the dates mixed up, some stating the crash occurred on 8 Jan 2009, which is a Thursday, and then consistently saying that the residents woke up on Sunday morning to find the wind turbine severely damaged.

This case is still valuable as it contains some unusual details, which may be of use to future researchers. The green light coming through the window is not the usual color most witnesses report, though not terribly unusual. The first NUFORC report cited above even speaks of a green colored object. Which may have some significance for this case. The shaking of the house is also an unusual detail, one I don’t ever recall hearing, though if a huge craft were directly overhead, perhaps it might cause such shaking. I do wonder if the unusual and awful nature of her vomiting blood after the missing time, though I have heard this before from another MILAB experiencer, could be an indicator of a MILAB event. Especially with her reports afterwards of close flying aircraft including a black helicopter, which I have frequently heard of from other MILAB experiencers. Or could the vomiting have been due to the close proximity of the huge craft just a few feet above her home? She stated she felt a burning sensation which may indicate some sort of radiation. She also felt a sound though she couldn’t hear one, which might indicate a very low frequency sound from some powerful engine or energy source. Could this indicate some experimental military craft, like the Taranis or some variant? The UFO literature has many cases of radiation burns and exposure effects by persons who have been in close proximity to craft. Some of these historical cases describe what might be some exotic military craft, with nuclear or other radiation emitting power source. Did the mother and father and possibly the dog also experience any radiation effects? It would be very useful to speak with them and find out, if she ever does get back with me.

And what about the glitter-like oily film she found on herself afterwards? Was it just commercial cosmetic glitter she had absentmindedly applied earlier that evening? If she can find the sample she saved, it would be extremely interesting to see what a lab analysis might reveal.

The fact that she is no longer responding leaves many questions unanswered. There is some suspicion on my part of the validity due to her posting the same account elsewhere with more personally identifying info a week after posting the NUFORC sighting report. And 2 weeks before I spoke with her and she asked to be kept anonymous. I shall keep my word to her to keep her anonymous in this report. But her varying attitude on anonymity does make me wonder.

Despite my pending and unanswered questions, the more dramatic and unusual aspects of this case are very useful encounter details for future researchers to have in the NUFORC database should any similar details appear in other reports. This case does merit more investigation, if that’s ever possible. My thanks to the witness for having the courage to finally share what she could of her experience. And I hope she is ok.
