Asymmetrical craft makes a pit stop
I’ve been thinking about this one moment for the past decade.
It was a nice warm evening in West Chester, PA and I was spending time with a friend after school. We both lived in the borough, so we decided to walk downtown and stargaze on top of a parking garage. We reached the top level of the Chestnut Street Garage - Lot #138 to find no cars or people present. We were loudly joking and walking to the highest point when a voice called out to us: “There’s a meteor shower tonight.” They spoke with flat affect, sounding almost bored. We turned to see an adult man sitting/crouched in the dark corner alone. My friend was in our high school astronomy club, so they replied “The meteor shower was last night.” The man paused and asked “Really?” He then calmly got up and walked over to the elevator in the north east corner. I couldn’t see his features too clearly, but he was tall (~ 6ft), and under the light he appeared caucasian, and wearing a long gray coat and hat. Once his elevator left, we decided to lay on our backs under the clear night sky.
Moments later, our chatter was cut mid sentence as an otherworldly craft slowly hovered into view from our left (NW), and came to a gentle stop directly above us. We fell totally silent in awe. The large craft was in the shape of a check mark, an asymmetrical V shape, with 5-6 dimly lit circular reddish-orange lights glowing on the underside. It was hard to tell how high or how large it was, but it seemed big and looked lower than any commercial plane or helicopter I’ve ever seen. If I had to guess, I would say it hovered roughly several hundred yards above us (a few football fields maybe?) So close that I could clearly make out the dark black body of the spacecraft against the night sky. Then after a few seconds, it zipped off into the horizon (SE) and was gone in the blink of an eye. Zero to a hundred. Faster than anything I’ve ever seen. It was as if it had its own field of gravity. The entire time it was completely silent.
My friend and I shot up in disbelief, “WHAT WAS THAT??!?” We took a few moments to verify the details of what we had seen with each other, and agreed on the shape and colors of the craft. We agreed that it looked and moved like something that defied our understanding of science. We panicked, screamed, hugged, laughed and cried. We parted ways, and while running home my eyes were continually darting back to the sky above me. We agreed not to share our story with anyone. I’m assuming we kept it a secret because we were scared of how others would react. We shut it out of our minds and lives and never talked about it again. But I’m not afraid anymore. As time goes on, I keep thinking about the figure we encountered up there, and wondering if they were really waiting for a meteor shower, or possibly alluding to something else. Perhaps they were waiting for their ride. As time passes, I feel more certain that the UFO was there for him.
It was the first time I had my worldview shattered and majorly questioned what we’re told to believe about life in our universe.
I think there’s something real going on in West Chester, and I’m afraid I’ll go my entire life without getting to talk about it.
I attached a recreation of what my buddy and I caught a glimpse of that fateful night.
