Large chrome sphere fallowing mountain top

Was a kid riding in car with mother. Heading back home to Payson AZ. Group of cars pulled to side of highway about 10 or more people standing around cars pointing and looking at very large chrome sphear moving along top of mountain fallowing mountain ridge. We slowed down and stopped for a few minutes. Then left because it upset religious mother seeing it. Felt very strange and unsettling. Mother was convinced it was evil or demonic. So never talked about it again.
