Location details: Spotted it at first a mile from sighting location as I was traveling SB on 395.

Spotted it a mile away as a yellow orb bright light, once I came closer, it appeared to transition into some kind of plane or drone
I am a middle-aged male who served approximately 12 years in the US Army. I have traveled all over the world, and I have seen things that I believe were our own black projects and also things that are not. I had my first conscious sighting with my mother and sister at approximately nine y/o. I moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2020 and if observed to other incidents where I could find no data on the flight tracking or radar to account for the craft that I was seeing. I have two separate astronomy apps on my phone that I also double check and verify that I’m not seeing a satellite, space station or Venus ect.
While traveling southbound on Highway 395 at approximately 3 AM I came around the curve to the left right before the road widens with a passing lane, I actually spotted a very bright round, yellow and white light, I could tell instantly that the light did not belong as I have made this trip during this time of night hundreds of times.
Initially as the road widened into the passing lane I watched this bright yellow light hover in the sky about 100 feet over the tree line. From this perspective, it appeared to be right in the next curve in the Apex off of the road into the trees and above those trees by 100 feet to the left side or the east side of the highway. For a second, I wondered if maybe I was seeing something near the county garage but it was past that and I could see the lights from the county garage so I knew it was past that.
I began to let off the accelerator as I was driving about 70 mph. This would’ve been right at the halfway point before the end of the passing lane. As I came closer to the object, it appeared that it was starting to descend. I rolled my windows down to listen and start eliminating possibilities. I then continued and proceeded through where the passing lane ends and it returns back to a two Lane Highway. At this point, I’ve actively started stopping the vehicle. The object stopped descending.
It was around this point that the large bright light began to be more identifiable. As the road began to curve to the right, the object descended what would appear to be five or 6 feet again and came to a stop rather jerkily. I was driving approximately 20 mph at this point or less.
I could hear no rotor wash, no engines of any kind, the object was perfectly stationary, I began to drift into the oncoming traffic‘s lane and came to a stop in the Apex of the curve. I had good visibility to the top of the mountain. I stopped almost against the metal guardrail to get a good view if it descended further towards the ground and what appeared to be a downward slant of the ground.
It was at this point I consciously was aware that what had presented as a bright yellow orb actually appeared to have some sort of wings, a fuselage, a tail and navigation lights. The object appeared to be about the size of a large SUV.
Although this object appeared to resemble a plane, the fine details betrayed it was not a plane. The wings placement and angles were wrong. The navigation lights were just off as they were not proportional to where you would expect them. At times, they did not blink at all. Other times I would see three or four navigation lights come on and separately one would blink and hold solid. It appeared that it had engines on the rear of the craft, but up on the tail.
Throughout the time that it was visible the craft appeared parallel to the ground, at no point did the object appear to angle up or down. This was even more bizarre is it appeared to be like a Gulfstream, but completely stationary facing to the right.
It was not a Harrier jet, for multitude of reasons, I quickly eliminated that, I’ve spent hundreds if not thousands of hours watching planes and rotary wing craft takeoff from both civilian and military air strips.
Even stranger, the entire front third of the fuselage where you would expect the cockpit to be, was all illuminated. But it was not light like you would see on a commercial airliner, it almost seemed like the craft was growing.
I was at a complete stop, at this point the craft was 50-75 meters away from me. It’s still appeared to be at the top of the trees. I could hear no noise, I saw no movement in the trees, I could discern the reasonable means of propulsion.
I also fly drones and if this was a drone someone went through a lot of trouble to create the presentation of being a small jet. They also have some ridiculously quiet engines and props.
I began to reach for my phone in the passenger seat of the vehicle, I began to bring it across my body without taking my eyes off of this object. I double clicked it to open the camera and it would not open. I still did not take my eyes off of this craft, instead, I brought the phone up to face level and began to aim it out of the car window. My intention was to double click again if it didn’t automatically unlock.
As the phone was beginning to come to an angle, that would put it level with my face, I saw a fast blue hue developed around the craft and then the craft was gone. For a second, I wondered if maybe it was just invisible. However, I have the very clear impression of seeing light flash straight up into the air.
Within a few moments, I heard a semi truck airhorn and turned my head just in time to see a logging truck flashing its headlights along with two passenger vehicles behind it. Somehow I had not seen them come over the mountain and now if I didn’t move I was gonna get hit potentially or forced them to have to stop.
I pulled away, and although it seemed that the longing truck was stopping along with the two cars. I decided I did not want to be publicly identified. I watched in my mirrors to ensure the craft did not return or was not there. A minute or two later as I was continuing southbound on highway 395 I got to the crest of the mountain and there was still no craft back there. However, the vehicles were still stopped.
I believe those three vehicles and individuals also witnessed what I saw.
