A group of matte black discs in a delta formation

As a teenager, my group of friends and I were hanging out on a golf course at night and saw a group of between 10-12 black discs that were in a delta formation, the tip of which was pointing east although the formation was moving from south to north. We saw the formation move as a whole from the south horizon, hover in complete silence over us and continue on its way at extreme speed until it disappeared to the north. The only reason it was visible is because the discs were less black than the night sky, and they also had like a bluish haze. After it passed over us, there was a lot of static electricity.
