Saw approximately 12 or more white orbs in the sky moving in various directions

My husband and I were standing outside and saw what we first thought were stars moving quickly across the sky. There were too many to count, but there minimum of a dozen, likely more. They moved at different speeds. Some went straight across the sky. Others moved changed directions. At one point, we saw 4 of them equally spaced apart in an arrowhead like formation moving synchronously across the sky. They looked to be in such a synchronous formation that they looked attached, but there was nothing visible but blank sky between them. At one point our daughter came out to find us, and saw them moving in the sky. They made no sound. After 10 or so minutes (maybe 15) we saw less and less of them.
