Bright, silent light making multiple right angle turns in the sky
I was walking on Hampshire Street from Niagara Street and approaching Prospect Avenue in Buffalo, New York. I bright white light in the sky at about a 45 degree angle from me caught my attention. It was very bright. Much brighter than a typical aircraft light. It was moving slowly from the right toward the left of my sight. It appeared to be near the altitude of a lower flying aircraft, however, its size and brightness may have confused that assessment. I noted that it had no flashing or colored lights as an aircraft normally would have. This led me to, first, think that it might be some sort of Satellite or the ISS. It was much brighter than any satellite I’d ever seen and was moving much too slow for a comet. However, within a second or two I knew it could not be a satellite or the ISS as it made a nearly 90 degree turn in a direction that seemed to be in my direction. In that instant, I knew this was abnormal and something I’d never seen before nor could explain. Planes nor helicopters can turn like this. It was far too sharp and sudden for any kind of aircraft I have ever seen before. Then the light quickly made 2-3 more impossibly sudden and sharp turns. The turns were sharp but still completely smooth. There was no arcing outward to make the turn as an airplane would. There was no sign of needing to change the direction of the light to turn. I would describe it less of a turn and more of just a change in direction. A helicopter or plane would need to first point its nose in the right direction but this light showed no sign of this. It just changed direction like a single point would. After the couple of changes in direction the light was then moving directly away from me. I then realized I needed to get video evidence of this unexplained sight. I pulled my phone out and opened the camera but by the time I’d switched to video and was ready to film the light was just heading to a point where I could no longer see it due to nearby houses. I tried to move my location to get a view again and only saw the light for just a second again before I could no longer see or locate it. It was at this point that I also noted that the entire encounter had been silent. As far as I could hear the light made absolutely not discernible noise. There was no sound like a helicopter or jet or propeller -driven plane.
The entire encounter was brief. It last maybe 10-15 seconds, however, in my 52 years I have never seen anything in the sky like this which defied all my possible explanations. I have never thought I’d seen a UFO ever before. I have never had any kind of unexplained situation like this. I am a natural skeptic although I try to remain open to all possibilities. I am not saying this was an alien craft or anything supernatural because I simply do not know what it was. All I know is that this was unlike anything I have ever seen before and it defied all explanations which I am aware of.
