4 craft in formation moved slowly west to east

Craft were in formation. I saw four, other witness saw more. Primarily yellow with red and green, but adjoining, not separate like planes. If I extended my hand, I could block out three but not all four. Cloud cover obscured further observation. No sound, so not jets or helicopters. Too large for planets or stars. Too close together to be landing at closest major airport (traffic control would not allow). I'm 77 and have never seen anything like this.
