Saw 3 lights to the SE in a huge triangle formation

While walking home from dinner my wife and I noticed what looked like 3 bright stars in a giant equilateral triangle formation with maybe a slight CW rotation to the SE. They only appeared for about 10-15 seconds before all 3 faded out in unison over the course of 1-2 seconds. Not sure if they were 3 separate entities or all part of 1 giant structure.
