Three purple lights hovering heading east

Spread out a decent distance at a low altitude. Looking they were moving in sync Eastward but losing altitude. Were flashing, one was zig zagging. Blinked out within 20 seconds. Seemed too far apart to be drones and in very rural area potentially over large parkland with reservoir and mountains nearby that is closed to the public at night.

We were two people driving on the highway. Both people saw it and fully sober.
