Brightly lit aircraft close to house hovered above ground at 40-50 FT then shot off very fast into horizon

Brightly lit aircraft and hard to compute as strange to see and happened quickly- at first thought emergency landing aircraft then thought drone but very large extremely bright lights hard to determine shape exactly and when husband went outside house to get better look it maneuvered quickly around treetops and shot down hillside and rapidly into horizon. Later when in bed we heard a burst of radio like frequency sounds. Called police in AM to report as very close to our home and thought perhaps a police drone but non in area. Whatever it was was very brightly lit and sophisticated and moved very quickly . There was a full moon last night.
