A black triangle that morphed into 9 white orbs

Above my head I observed a large black triangle, about the size of a football field (estimate). It hovered silently. It wavered and bobbed a bit, like a leaf in a breeze. It moved very slowly forward toward the San Francisco bay. An orange light began to illuminate from its center, it faded in and then out. When it faded out, there were now 3 triangle craft in a triangle formation. Then a white light faded in in the corner of each of these triangles. There were 9 white lights total, within 3 triangles, in a large triangle formation. Each of the three triangles faded out simultaneously leaving just the 9 white (now) orbs in a triangle formation. They soon broken formation and glided into a column, flying forward in a pattern that resembled a snake in the water. They flew out over the bay where they began to fly wildly through the sky. The display looked like a swarm of fireflies. The 9 white orbs fly rapidly in an indiscernible pattern, faster than any conventional aircraft. A midair collision would be inevitable if any humans were flying like this. The orbs flew wildly like this for at least a minute, then a small airplane (the kind used for flying banners) flew from the direction of candlestick park approaching the location of the orbs. The orbs all simultaneously froze in the air. After a few moments, as the plane approached them, they then appeared to fly off at an incredible speed in all directions. They disappeared so fast that it is possible they just dematerialized or became invisible .

I was 12 years old at this time, and witnessed this with 4 friends and my friends mom. I have been thinking about this a lot lately. I called some of the sky banner flying companies in this area to try to find another witness( the pilot of the aircraft) but could not locate anyone.

At my young age I was discouraged from reporting the event and even talking about. Until I was an adult the supervising adult denied it happened, but later admitted it. I want to find another witness as I can’t recall the exact date it happened. The 101 freeway was across where this happened so there should have been 100s of witness. Although I observed other people near us afterward that seemed to have missed the whole event.
