I was looking west, it came out of the clouds above and went nw into the clouds again. I could see a constellation behind it

I was looking west, it came out of the clouds above and went NW into the clouds again. I could see a constellation behind it but I don't know which one. There were three lights, amber in color. If a star in a constellation appears to be the size of a pencil tip, these were probably at least the size of a pencil eraser (or the end of a pencil) in diameter. They moved faster than airplanes and were able to adjust, just like if you were guiding a pencil and you changed direction just like if you were walking and you corrected your direction by a 1/2 step and then kept going in the same path with the other 2 discs of light. Maybe they were spotlights, but they seemed too solid for that. We are about 40-50 miles South of Waco, TX, and about 10-15 miles east of Fort Cavazos. Austin, Texas, 50 miles south of Salado, also has military bases. If you figure out what it is, I'd like to know. Thank you!
