Three sparkling cylinders symmetrically spaced moving like DNA spiral/motionless/still in the sky/ Enormous/Silent/ for 15 min

In March or April we were driving through Arizona on Route 66. We were somewhat alone. There was one car in front of us maybe a mile ahead of us. I looked out of the front window to our left and there were three enormous metallic cylinders that were symmetrical in shape just hanging in the sky. Sparkling and spiraling. The first and third were on the same level while the second was elevated a bit. They were stationary in the sky. Silent. Quite beautiful. We were wondering what "on earth" are they. My husband a Navy Vet in Aircraft was baffled. We began to brainstorm what they could be. We kept driving. The cylinders were there beside us in the sky. And after close to 15 minutes or perhaps longer the three sparkling spiraling cylinders vanished before our eyes. Nothing fell to the ground. No sound was heard. No other aircraft was in sight. The sky was still as blue and beautiful as ever. We were in awe of what we had just seen and experienced. We never stopped driving during this time. We continued on in silence for quite some time and said nothing more about it until we got back home to Maine. I did call a UFO number and reported it. We have never seen them again, although I am a sky gazer. We did not have cameras with us when we saw them. What struck me the most was the size! They appeared to take up the whole sky. There were the mountains and foothills, a bit of the horizon, and the massive cylinders and sky. They sparkled like diamonds spiraling in the sun. Quite beautiful. Would love to know what we saw. Neither my husband nor I experienced fear during these few minutes. Thank you.
