I was taking photographs of the night sky. After I exported the image into my computer, I saw it. This is a 30 second exposure.
In the image (lower right, at the horizon) an orange light is captured. The image (ISO 3,200, 30 sec, f. 4.0) was made with a 21 megapixel canon dlsr using a 14mm prime lens.Due to the exposure length, so can see star trails, but the orange light appears not to move.
During my exposure, I used a green led headlamp to paint the trees in the foreground. I never noticed the illuminated sphere on the horizon until I moved the image onto my laptop. This is too big to be noise.
One image is during daylight and the other is the night image. Zoom in to the lower right at the horizon line.
There are several airports in the area, but aircraft tend to move during a period of 30 seconds. Even flying towards the camera, the altitude is very lower with no marker lights visible.
