Large disk spinning silently over water (Atlantic Ocean), seen by 4 young people, one Mom and one Police Officer, before increasing speed.

Summer, early 1960's, at vacation home on Atlantic coast in NE USA, my friend, adolescent boy, was visiting with a friend in the front yard. His older sister was in the driveway in a car with her boyfriend. Mother was washing dishes in the kitchen.

The two boys saw a huge disk-shaped flying vehicle fly low overhead towards the ocean, which was on the other side of the house. The craft disappeared over the house.

The Sister and boyfriend also saw it and exited the car and ran around the house after the boys.

As she was standing washing dishes at the sink in the kitchen, the Mother saw the craft through the window facing her, as it flew down and stopped over the waters of the Ocean, remaining in one spot spinning relatively slowly, without any sound.

Her son, his friend, his sister and boyfriend stood in the back yard looking at the huge craft turning silently, joined in seconds by the Mom, then within a few minutes by a police officer who had parked in the driveway.

They were all speechless, in shock.

Approximately five minutes after the officer arrived, the craft began to increase its speed of rotation and moved slowly a bit upwards and away from the direction of the shore. It then increased it's rotation to extremely fast and moved upwards slightly, before disappearing.

The trauma of the experience overshadowed any further memory of what immediately followed, but the recollection of the event remained a magnetic focal point of query and contemplation for my friend through the years, leading him to get a degree in engineering as his mind kept seeking answers as to what he had seen. The very interesting idea which he had been led to, had to do with the increased speed of spin the craft had exhibited before disappearing… He said, there are two forces involved with spinning: centrifugal (outward) and centripetal (inward). His theory is, that the particular intense speed of spin of this craft allowed it to go Inward - using centripetal force - to Enter a wormhole in the fabric of Spacetime to reach their home station in a "do-able" amount of time, which otherwise might be hundreds+ of light years from here.

This event influenced my friend's entire life. He became a serious engineer, very intelligent man.

Although the exact place, date and time are not precisely known, the number of witnesses, including the police officer, gives credence to his description as well. But most important of all, I find, is his theory of centripetal force generated by increased spin, making entrance into wormholes in Spacetime possible, in order to make long distance space travel feasible.
