As a child playing outside with neighborhood kids at dusk we all saw a low slow silent object with flashing red green lights circling

As a child of 7 in 1967 playing outside at dusk with a group of kids my age we could view the lower elevation of our area. we all saw a low slow silent hovering at tree line an object with red & green lights. the lights were on the object, we all started running to our homes screaming.
