It came down from the clouds then disappeared over the tree line heading almost true North .

I looked up and saw it. A very bright white circular light. About the size of a baseball held at arms length. It came down through the clouds then disappeared over the tree line heading true North. Visual at about 3 to 5 seconds. Then I heard what appeared to be and explosion in a distance within 5 to 7 seconds.
