In the summer of 1996, my friends and I witnessed a white/blue light (like a star) high in the sky that moved in impossible ways.

Sometime in the summer months of 1996, my friends and I witnessed a white/blue light in the sky that moved in impossible ways. I say 'star-shaped', but really it was a light that we thought was a star. I don't know the exact date or month, I suspect it was sometime in July. We were playing hide and seek tag in the dark, running through the woods around the horse acre my house sat on. I was sprinting across my front yard, heading South, towards the road, following the dry river-bed on my right, which bordered my neighbors house. My friend A. was sprinting behind me, chasing me. It was a very dark, clear night, with many visible stars. I was running straight for the ditch filled with shallow water that ran parallel with the road. My friend did not see the ditch that I suddenly leaped over, mid-chase. This led him to running straight into the water, giving me time to get away. Instead, I heard him yell out and I felt bad. I stopped running and turned back to help him, since he was younger than me by four years. His brother, E., who was a year older than me, had caught up to us. Suddenly, A. stopped and pointed and asked, “What’s that?”.

I turned to face West, where he was pointing, and in the wide open expanse of night sky above us, I saw a "star-shaped" white/blue light, hanging high over the Western horizon. It was very high up and very small, but something about it had caught my friend's eye and my friend E. asked, “Is that a star?”. To our shock and amazement, this light, that had appeared to be stationary at first (like a star), suddenly dropped down lower in the sky, slowly at first, then at an impossible speed. It then shot to the right, then to the left, zig-zagging back and forth, then back to the middle, where it hovered and did this squiggle up and down motion. It’s hard to explain, but it was like tight, vertical zig-zags. There was no trail to it and it obviously did not have a one-way trajectory, rather it seemed to be moving in a very specific pattern. We all stared in stunned silence until I heard myself say, “That’s not a star”.

We were rooted to the ground where we stood, unable to move, as this “star” continued to zig-zag from right to left and squiggle up and down. Then, before we knew it, it came to hover in the middle before shooting straight up into the night sky, accelerating at an incredible speed, before it completely vanished, arching over the Western horizon, away from us. When it vanished, we were all silent for a moment, but then, that’s when we saw something else that was strange. It appeared to us like some type of military air craft was speeding in the same direction that the light went, as if following it. It was not a commercial plane, it was very dark and very fast. Not long after that, we saw another unfamiliar looking type of air vehicle going the same way. We were all in agreement that something was following or searching for the "star-like" light we saw. After that, we all turned and ran straight back to the house, now completely done playing outside in the dark.

The three of us had come to the conclusion that we had just seen something that nobody would believe, so none of us said a word for years, except amongst each other. It wasn’t until I was in my early 20’s and my friend A. was in his late teens that, out of no where, he brought that night up with one question: “Do you remember that night we saw the star?”. I told him yes, I remembered that night very clearly. We left it at that and haven’t spoken about it again. It’s been almost 20 years since that very brief conversation. This was the first sighting I had of the white/blue light outside my house, but it was not the last.

This is the third report I have sent in, but probably the most important so far, because there was two other witnesses with me. The incidents I have reported all occurred between 1995-1996 and were centered around my house. I suspect that I have been abducted and have been trying to put the pieces of this puzzle together for years. I would really, really appreciate an investigator contacting me, as I have had a hard time coming to terms with some of these events and still have night terrors, even though 28 years have passed.

I’m now 39 years old and only now allowing these memories to resurface in my waking life and take up space in my brain. I have been combing through my past, searching for answers, looking through photo albums and old journals, trying to put dates and faces in place. This report and the two others I have sent in are not hoaxes or a joke. These reports may not come across as serious incidents, but they are. These events shaped my life in so many ways and I am still deeply disturbed by some of the things I have experienced and witnessed. Please have an investigator contact me. Thank you.
