Appeared glowing orange at first until the lights went out. A gray circular or square rotating object hovered over us.
Me and my son were walking our dog over the bridge overpassing the City College Station (WB) by Sacramento City College. We stopped to see if we could get a look at the Pons-Brook comet but no luck due to light pollution. However, I noticed a glowing orange orb coming towards our direction (West to East) just above Land Park which is adjacent to the front of City College (Freeport Blvd area). As the object got closer to us, the orange light appeared to go out completely revealing a grey or silver like sphere-like object rotating while moving.
As it (zoomed slowly) or hovered right above and pass our heads. It was far away but closer to us than a normal aircraft would fly so I'd say about 100 feet up at least. It went right past us towards Highway 99 (going pass it) and disappeared into the night sky. The orange light never came back on, so we followed it by eye the best that we could. I thought it to be a drone of some sort but where is this drone operator? And it was a silent.
