My 5 year old son and I were fishing at Camp Far West in the afternoon, and I heard a sonic boom. Camp Far West is approx. 10 miles from Beal Air Force Base. I know this is the exact time because I texted my wife to see if she heard anything. She was working in Lincoln (20 miles south of us) and she informed me nothing was felt by her or anyone she worked with.

I didn't see any trails in the sky to indicate a jet had flown by. Within a minute or two of the boom, a U-2 spy plane took off and flew straight up until it disappeared. It is worth mentioning my 5 year old didn't hear anything. Him not hearing it blows my mind because not only did I hear it I felt the ground shake. He must of been to busy throwing rocks in the water. It was really amazing, because I haven't heard a sonic boom since the late 90's and that was reported as the blackbird.
