I was standing outside and happened to look up and saw a grey boomerang shaped object moving silently across the sky then over the house where I lost sight of it. I could hear a plane in the distance, but there was no sound coming from the object I was watching. It was moving from the north east to southwest. There were no lights and I would not have seen it had I not looked up at just that momemt. It was just lighter than the dark night sky and had a solid appearance. I could not tell exactly how large it was because I couldn't tell exactly how high it was. My best guess would be 500 to 1000 feet. I would just cover the object with my thumb.
