1/2 mile straight east of McConnel AFB Wichita. Round SILENT solid dark, round, red object moved straight north from straight south no variations in direction. Wind was 20 mph out of southeast any firework debris such as Chinese lantern would have moved SE. Altitude about 15000 feet. Object size was about the size of a dime. Cleared view in 2 minutes. AFB only has KC135 tankers and no fighters. Speed hard to estimate. AFB had no comments. I am retired Boeing and I know aircraft. This was NOT fireworks, space station or satellite.
