Blues Greens and Purples. Flat shoelace like object changing into ball shape.

It looked like a star but too bright and changing colors; thought maybe it was a star. I was facing south, object was west of the moon and south of Orion's belt to start at the end it had moved at least 90 degrees WNW.

You could tell it was changing from green-blue hues. I called my wife out (non-believer at this point) and she brought her camera (studio quality). We took tons of photos and when zoomed in you can tell it is a long straight object changing from purple, green, white, blue, turquoise, and different shades of those.

During our duration outside taking pictures we had watched it with the naked eye changing from a flat line to a ball or orb shape. It moved around in a zig-zaging and making what seamed to be horseshoes. also we had noticed something come out of it only because it would blink red and disappear going north (you can only see this when it is flashing hard to capture in a picture).

Upon further review of these photos we noticed the object started straight and from picture to picture you can see it change into almost a crooked T, to the shape of a italicized F into a ball (our eyes scene what we thought was a tail, we think the picture of the F shape). The pictures made it seam almost like we photographed a LED rope being wiggled until the F shape.. That made it mind blowing It would go way out of distance (atmosphere?) and come back flatten out and be in a different area.

The strangest thing happened after our adrenaline was flowing like mad men: the pictures from tonight that was had been going through on the camera somehow were erased between pulling the SD from camera to computer.

We are truly baffled because we took another picture after seeing they'd be deleted and it saved, none of the settings had been tampered with nor was the card full. Are we the only ones who this has happened too.. Did we take too many pictures and they "magically" get erased..?

Please tell me someone has scene this flat object same colors, we are positive of what we have scene no possibility it was an air craft or jet. We are by an airport and know what an airplane looks like. This was truly a mind blowing and almost life altering even to know what we have seen was real.
