Unidentified flying object (bright orange/red) triangular five-side polygon hovering in sky above Barham Blvd. L.A., CA. 3-29-2012

At about 4 a.m. on Thursday morning March 29, 2012, a five-sided triangular polygon unidentified (bright orange/redish color) flying object appeared in the sky above Barham Blvd. near the cross street Coyote Canyon in the unincorporated area of Los Angeles. It appeared out of no where and, seemed to hover for a minute or two and then seemed to change into a smaller circle and, started moving back and forth and in a circle motion. The sky was a bit hazy but it was still dark and that’s why the object stood out. I couldn’t believe it. I noticed some houses high on the canyon hill had their house lights on and I thought to myself, surely they must have seen this object as well, or anyone traveling west on Barham Blvd. at this time had to see it. It hovered for about five minutes if that, and seemed to travel south. It disappeared. I wanted to grab my IPhone and take a picture but there wasn’t enough time for me to take a picture before the object was no longer ! visible. I know someone had to see this object as it seemed to be flying much lower than a commercial airplane does. Would be great if someone else can post here about this object. I’m a university professor.
