My friends and I were on a boat on Kentucky Lake. I first witnessed what I thought was the bottom edge of a cloud reflecting light. It was a line of light in the sky. I pointed this out to my friends and we observed it begin to grow and move. Then we thought it was a meteor. It was moving to slow and not behaving like a meteor. The line of light then faded from the front of the direction it was spreading.
