|Firstly, I'm a veteran who has served in an AO. I'm very familiar with all sorts of military aircraft.
As I stepped out the front door to observe three deer grazing in my front yard, movement in the sky caught my eye. A solid orange circular object having the appearance of a glowing ember was traveling southwest to northeast approximately 30° above the horizon. It made no sound and maintained a constant rate of speed. The brightness was unchanged as well.
I could not ascertain the size or distance of the phenomenon. Also, the altitude seemed steady and the flight path was perpendicular to the ground. This was not a meteor. I'm a bit of a skywatcher and enjoy the meteor showers. This did not burn up or dissipate and the path was not consistent with a meteor.
