Bright flashes and something in the sky that quickly dissolved

Looking down at the ground we saw a huge flash from above, which looked like camera flash. It was a quick burst of about two flashes.

When we looked up we saw something that looked similar to the space x launch reported recently, except it was much smaller and quickly dissolved into the night sky. There was a point with two streamers but could not tell if it was a craft or not. It was extremely high which appeared to head west.
