I have seen satilites and shooting stars before, yet never seen anything like this before and am typicly a skeptic

Me and another federal police officer starting our shift noticed a bright white sphere shaped object moving slowly in a southwestern track. The object first looked like perhaps a satellite, yet all around the object was cloudy surrounded by what appeared to be mist, however there were no clouds in the night sky. We could not conclude what it was. We did not get a picture but it was slow enough to watch for about 4 to 5 minutes.
