Three bright white lights, and one blinking red light in the shape of a triangle.

I was driving my car with one friend in the passenger seat, and one friend in the backseat. My friend in the backseat noticed the strange lights first, and pointed it out to us. Straight ahead, fairly low to the ground were 3 bright white lights pretty close together in the shape of a triangle.

On the back of the triangle was one blinking red light. Coming off the UFO, were bright beams of light, very similar to headlights.

We pulled into the nearest parking lot and got out and watched the lights as they traveled lower, and eventually disappeared behind trees. We saw the lights in the air for no more than two minutes.

About an hour later, I was driving home by myself and saw the same lights for about 20 seconds before they disappeared behind trees again.
