Bright light travelling along a line of clouds, stopping and going at high speeds.

My mother and I were stargazing and noticed a bright light to above us going north. It was brighter than a satallite or plane/copter.

We watched it go north towards some incoming line of clouds that had "heat lighting" flashes.

The unidentified light stopped, quickley traveled west for 5 seconds, came to abrupt stop, moved east in a wave pattern for about 10 seconds, then went into the line of clouds until it's light faded and we lost track of it. It was almost as if it was trying to decide if it wanted to go into the clouds.

Made my heart race and the hair stand up on my arms while watching it. Not usually what we see out in the country.
