My camp counselor, some cabin mates, and I saw a “black triangle UFO ”at night at summer camp in Illinois in 2012.

Today's date: 31/7/2014

Date of sighting: around the second week of July, 2012

Note: This occurred two years ago, so my memory of the event is a little spotty. I apologize for the convenience.

My name is ((name deleted)). I am now fourteen years old and about to start my freshman year of high school, but at the time of the event, I was twelve and about to start seventh grade.

I was attending summer camp at Camp Menno Haven near Tiskilwa, Illinois, back in 2012. It was Night Adventure Camp, so we had a slightly later curfew than the standard Trailblazer Camp. It's a Mennonite camp, and is very outdoorsy (unlike me). It's woody area, with a few clearings. More information about the camp is available at <>, but a warning, it's not the best designed website.

Although I don't know the exact date, camp took place around the second week of July, and lasted five days. I have no idea which of the five days the event occurred on.

My counselor (or maybe assistant counselor), several of my cabin mates, and I were headed back from campfire (it might not have been campfire, but I guess it's not very important) somewhere from 9–11 o'clock at night. and going to our cabin, Hickory. We were on one of the big main paths that cut through the camp. If I remember correctly, not all of Hickory Cabin was with us, as some were either still at campfire or already at the cabin.

We were just talking about something or other when we saw this weird craft we referred to as a plane. It flew fairly low (significantly higher than a crop duster, but much, much lower than a commercial jet. Think around twice the altitude of a crop duster, give or take) and was completely silent. It moved in a straight line across the night sky. The outline was somewhat difficult to make out in the dim light, but there was a very distinct pattern of lights on the bottom of the craft.

There were four orange lights on the bottom of the craft, with three forming a triangle and one in the center. This struck us as odd, and none of us had ever seen anything like it. The craft moved at a moderate, fairly normal pace, and seemed to glide, as it moved very smoothly.

After it passed out of view, our counselor/assistant counselor/whatever told us how he saw it at the previous camp the week before (I believe it was Trailblazer Camp), and his previous cabin thought it was weird as well. We exchange various theories, and eventually our conversation turned to whether or not the Bible agrees with the thought of extraterrestrial life. We came to the consensus that surely there must be other life out there, and the Bible doesn't seem to explicitly disagree.

Time passed, and after awhile the encounter faded to a distant memory. Jump forward two years to about two weeks ago, and a new Matthew Santoro video came out. I am subscribed to him on YouTube, and I enjoy watching his videos soon after they are posted. The video was “The 10 Most MYSTERIOUS UFO Sightings of All Time!” Here's a link to the video:

It appeared on the YouTube widget on my Asus Google Nexus 7. I taped the icon, and the video started. At 5:45 in the video, I noticed something: the picture in the corner showing the triangular UFO sighting was eerily identical to the craft I had seen at camp two years before. This led me to do a little research.

After reading several articles about these “black triangle UFOs”, I found that my sighting matched up perfectly with the other eyewitness reports and photos. I decided to post my sighting here.

If anyone has any info they'd like to share with me, or need me to try to remember more details, email me at ((e-address deleted))
