two round lights moving in formation together silent then flew out over lake michigan.

i was out walking from my car to the house when i saw two red lights coming from the northeast when they got about a quarter mile away they turned towards the west and it looked like both were on exact flight paterns cause each one turned at a certain point following the next and as they turned it was like it was really white lights shinning through red lenses but as they flew out over lake michigan they had no tail lights so they both were gone in a matter of mins. and no sound normaly you here engines of a plane before you see them these nothing if i had not looked up they could have flown right by i never would have known.i've drivin big trucks all over the usa and have never seen what i saw last night.
