One hazy, glowing sideways diamond split into 2 smaller diamonds no noise at all

i was outside walking my dog when i saw what i thought was a shooting star, but then it split into another object. Both were giving off a faint glow. Have never seen anything like this before in my life. They did not make a single sound, which is what really freaked me out. They were too close to the ground to be a plane or helicopter or anything else Human's have created.
