Orange ball dripping smaller balls and disappearing/reappearing in 2 places at once.

My wife and I saw an orange fireball slowly moving across the sky just before 7pm. I first thought it was a chinese lantern because it was dripping straight down what looked like smaller fireballs.

It moved slowly from east to west and at one point it could not be seen on my phone's video camera but we could see it in the sky. It would disappear and reappear along its same path but the last time it did it, the object moved very quickly in a flash. So fast I thought there were 2 objects and then it disappeared not to be seen.

In the hour since it happened there are a lot of planes circling around this area. We are going to keep checking as the night goes on. Also not a cloud in the sky. We live close to hopkins airport so we constantly see planes at night and we have never seen anything like that before.

We have also seen chinese lanterns but this was strange and so is the fact that planes have been circling the area since.
