two glowing white lights moving back and forth in sky

One dim glow appeared to travel in a large elliptical path, with varying speeds and flickering brightness, occasionally changing directions. A second, larger and brighter, traveled mostly in one straight line, back and forth, also with changing speeds and brightness.
