|Pulsing light of red, green and white seen in western and southern sky over Albuquerque.
I was stargazing on my porch that night because the sky was so clear.
At first I thought I was seeing a pulsing, twinkling star, but then it began to change colors rapidly, including red, green, and white. The object would stay in one spot for a few seconds, then slowly move a short distance in random directions (up, down, left, right).
I called my adult son outside to see it because he had mentioned clearly seeing the same thing several nights in a row this week on his way back from work on a bicycle at 4 or 5 a.m. He confirmed that this was the same thing he had been sighting, but he had seen it in the southern part of the city near Kirtland AFB and the Albuquerque airport in the wee hours of the a.m. His sightings also included purple as one of the colors.
The light was directly west in the sky. Our home is close to the exact center of the city near the crossing of I-25 and I-40. Other events going on this week were the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, and fireworks the same night as my sighting. However, the balloon events are held in the far north part of the city, nowhere close to where I clearly viewed this object. It had to be a distance of approximately 10 miles.
