|Fast, erratic moving red ball of light between Bernville and Shartlesville, PA
This morning(09/15/12) at about 4:20 am I was driving from Bernville, PA north towards Shartlesville, PA on Wolf Creek Road on the straight stretch near the intersection of Old Bernville Road when a bright red light appeared in front of me as it overtook me from behind. It was moving very fast and then made a sharp right turn without slowing and then came to a dead stop in the sky for about 2 seconds and then reversed course and went left in front of me and vanished. And by vanished I don’t mean flew behind the trees – it just winked out.
I can't say if it had any shape other than that it was a very bright red ball of light. It was a much bigger 'light' than the pin point light of a star or the lights you see on an aircraft. I would say it appeared to be the size of a pencil eraser if you held the pencil out at arms length.
It's hard to say how high up it was but it appeared to be pretty high. It was well out in front of me when it did its turn right, stop, fly left maneuver, so I'd guess it had to be just south of, or right over Shartlesville and visible to anyone traveling on RT78.
I have seen plenty of 'shooting stars' meteors and this was definitely not the same. This thing was moving FAST, changed direction 90 deg without slowing down and then came to a complete standstill and then reversed direction just as fast.
For what it's worth, I mentioned it to the guys I was hunting with that I thought I may have seen a ufo and before I could tell my story one of them said ‘was it a red light’? He went on to say he thought he also saw a red light in the sky on his way to meet us, but figured he was imagining it, being a little groggy from just waking up. He didn't elaborate any further. I however was not the least bit groggy, having been up for over an hour and on my 3rd cup of coffee.
