4 jets circling a mysterious object

Driving down 290 headed NW, I say 4 jets in the sky at the same time at certain points traveling in the same direction around a circular object that was stationary. While I first thought it was a star, eventually it went away and then near the same location where a stationary line appeared that emitted a bright yellow light. Eventually it got dark. Could have been a star but the 4 jets in the sky at the same time seems suspicious to me.
