Round orange object traveling south to north over the ocean

The object was round and deep orange traveling south to north over the ocean. It hovered in place a couple of minutes and headed east gaining both speed and height very quickly. There was no sound or blinking lights associated with the object. The same type of object was seen about 1 week earlier traveling south to north but did not hover and continued across the sky at a moderate rate of speed.
