|Large red light slowly and silently approached us parallel to the country road we were on shot off very rapidly to the north.
I, my friend's 12 year old daughter and my 5 year old son, were traveling south on Co Rd 18 in Williams Co. Ohio, about 1/2 mile south of the Michigan state border. We were in my small truck with the windows rolled down and it was fully dark outside.
We noticed a large red light, about 300 feet in the air, approaching us slowly parallel to the road we were on. It was silent and so dark that we couldn't see any shape behind or around it. We had time to come to a complete stop while it pulled up straight across from us over a cornfield, then shot away to the north at an extremely high rate of speed.
A few days before this, a local electrical transformer had exploded at the corner of Co Rd R and 19, about one mile SE of where this occurred. This could more exactly pinpoint the date of this siting. Friends of ours wrote it off as an after effect of that, but this light was much too large to have had anything to do with that event.
