|A pair of orange lights moving fast and disappearing. Repeated almost immediately. It is 22:50 hrs Friday night.
From my seated position in front of the computer, with the window before me, I often see the lights of a plane overhead, and sometimes the spotlight of a police helicopter. Tonight, I was suddenly alerted to a very unusual orange light in the sky moving across my vision. It looked quite near by. I have a big view and was able to keep the two objects in my vision.
The bright light was getting smaller so I guessed they were moving either away into the distance, or what appeared more likely, moving up high into the sky until they disappeared.
Intrigued and puzzled, I started to write an email to my local residents’ group to ask if anyone else had spotted them, when, suddenly two identical (were they the same ones?) objects appeared in the same position as before and repeated the trajectory of before. They were coming from ESE, I would guess and disappearing NNW.
I live in North London N8 9NX I raced upstairs to my front door to stand on an open walkway so as to see them better, and also to check if they were making a noise. There were three teenage boys also watching them up there. They had no other information to add.
I asked myself if they could be planes, but the light was the wrong colour; it was distinctly orange and flared, rather than being a directed light of a plane spotlight. Outside I listened hard for an engine noise and could hear none.
I am 65, a woman, have been a social worker and later a photographer. I am not religious, and like science. This is an objective account of something that was truly puzzling.
