Orang colored sphere skipping very fast across the night sky

I was walking my dog when suddently something aluminated the concrete floor, which caused me to look up at the sky. When I did, thats when I saw an orange shaped sphere skipping quickly across the sky. My dog was also acting strangly, by all of a suddent, becoming very quiet and still like a statue.
