3 flashing objects over LAX

I was just at the south of LAX to see Qantas A380, I saw 3 or 4 dark red flashing objects flying over east of LAX from south to north...they looked very far away, formatted like flatted triangle. Got my attention, because its color, flashing interval and formation. They could be military chopper or air plane.
