Green light "calls" witness in melbourne Australia 1999

As a teenager I was sitting down at home watching tv , when I suddenly felt the urge to go outside & look at the sky.

When I opened the door there was a green cigar shaped light at 37* in the northern sky.

It stayed motionless for about 3 seconds, like it wanted me to get a good look. Then it shot of at 45* upwards and to the west and out of sight.

It left a streak of light as it sped off.

I felt no real suprise at first at what I saw as I seemed to know exactly what I was going out side to see, as though it had called me.

What seem strangest to me is that, seemed to interact with me. First by calling me then having me come and see, And then running away, like a game.

I am an amature astronomer, and know a meteor when I see one.

Also I had seen an orange ball type UFO in the area a few years earlier.
